ATOM MB and CERIM give birth to AVANTIUM

Two companies of excellence in the mechano-footwear sector are joining forces in a new entrepreneurial and industrial project, with a view to expanding their offer to customers and strengthening their international presence.

AVANTIUM is born, a company owned 50/50 by ATOM and CERIM, in which the industrial contents of Cerim and MB will be merged, and which derives from the historical Molina e Bianchi company acquired by the ATOM group in 2016. The aim of the union is to strengthen the design and production expertise of two of the most important brands in the world of footwear machines and assembly systems: a synergy that will make it possible to optimise customer service and strengthen the brands’ international presence, as well as guarantee the full protection of all human resources.

“We have chosen a name that fully represents our desire to look ahead and continue to grow with an innovative and courageous project,” comments Anna Mercalli, President of Cerim. We have decided to respond to the challenges of the future with a union of forces and intentions, which will allow us to present ourselves on the international footwear market with an even broader and more competitive offer. And, above all, we have chosen to protect our human resources, our true asset. And with them to develop and build the future of this new adventure that continues under the banner of tradition but looks ahead with great realism and pragmatism’.

AVANTIUM also represents the will to consolidate the roots in the Vigevano area, to which ATOM and CERIM have always been linked and from which they draw professionalism and tradition.

“It is a very clear choice to focus on a project that enhances our excellence and our histories. A consolidation operation,’ emphasises Giovanni Gaia, president of the ATOM Group, ‘in which the owners decided to invest without resorting to external finance, agreeing on an industrial plan that starts from a strong structural choice: to unite in order to grow, to become more and more international, to optimise our production and distribution network with an enlarged and integrated product offer. And at the same time, to have room to design and offer increasingly innovative solutions’.
