Alussa by AGFA, the first industrial technology to decorate leather

Thanks also to the collaboration with TFL, the Alussa system represents the perfect combination of leather and ink

With Alussa, Agfa brings its centennial graphic experience in the leather sector. Alussa allows designers to create vibrant, colourful and ultra-defined graphics on genuine high quality leathers. Relying on the Alussa inkjet technology to decorate fine leathers allows you to obtain infinite customised creative alternatives, while maintaining high production performance, and a flexibility which these days is ever more necessary. The leathers are decorated with top quality, highly performing prints and unique and detailed designs that can be reproduced on any type of work volume. Alussa technology offers first-rate performance: ink pigments with high colour stability, up to 100 thousand dry flexes, 10 thousand wet flexes, and up to 13 thousand cycles in Martindale. The print quality is obviously the first thing that stands out and that defines the quality of such a treatment or not. In the case of Alussa the decorations can be made both with white ink and in colour on backgrounds of any shade. The photographic rendering is of remarkable level, as well as the reproduction of thin lines, vector images and texts.

But what are the advantages of digital printing? First of all, there is no need to have a minimum order quantity, and the ability to manage both unique pieces and large quantities. To which are added the options for customisation and serial production. Last but not least, the zero start-up time of the machines which allows us to always be ready for sampling as well as for production entry. Finally, the collaboration between AGFA and TFL has allowed further development of the technology, thanks to the union of the historical skills of the two companies. Thanks to TFL, in fact, the machines of the Alussa line can have pre-bases and chemical fixatives that facilitate the achievement of very high performance. The Alussa eTU25 UV jet printer, in combination with the iUL10 UV inks, specifically developed for genuine leather goods, ensure a productivity of 80 m2/h (only colour) or 40 m2/h (white + colour).
